GIRL!

Four daughters. Who would have imagined? Wow. I still can’t believe it.

I think I need to lie down 🙂 I also think that I must be one of the luckiest people in the whole world. I got my dream home and I will have another beautiful daughter soon. A daughter who will have 3 doting big sisters, a daughter who will make me smile and call me Mummy and a daughter who will be my friend for the rest of my life.

Yes I think I am the luckiest person around.

Rushing around

Mornings seem to be bedlam here. Getting ready for school, daycare, work and all the extra’s that it entails tends to make my mind whirl.

This morning I was getting Meg dressed, all 3 hair done, shoes on, lunches made and me showered and ready. Justin took Jess and a screaming Meg to daycare and I took Holly to school. When I got to work, already feeling exhausted, Justin told me that Meg had not stopped her tantrum when she got to daycare, but that it in fact got worse when she pronounced that she didin’t have any undies on. Her frazzled mother had forgotten her underpants – how much worse can things get for a 3 year old??

I had to laugh, but I’m sure little Meggie will not be happy with me when I pick her up 🙂

The rural life

For the past 8 years or so that we have been living here we have gotton used to being awoken in the morning to the gentle baa-ing and moo-ing of the resident sheep and cows from the farm next to us. Even though we live in a suburb, we have nothing to the left of our house except farmland. It is so nice to look out the loungeroom windows and see no others houses or to be pestered by neighbours 😉

The past week, DH has been out walking in the mornings with Holly and they have befriended some new animals from the farm. Check it out – Alpacca’s…

OK so it is not such a great photo – those brown lumps there could be yeti’s or bunyips for all you know!! But believe me, they are Alpacca’s LOL.
Not much else going on here. Must be time for something to eat – see ya!!!

Energy levels oh so low

I’m a bit pooped this week – the weather and the kids are tiring me out. I’ve had no inspiration to blog for a few days and certainly no energy to do any cleaning, scrapping or ironing! I thought I’d better pull myself out of this reverie and do some baking, so I whipped up some mini banana muffins for the kids. It is all quite, so I guess they like them!! LOL

My Limerick Challenge

Ok, here is my effort at the limerick challenge (see previous post for details)…..

There once was a husband called Justin
Who never did any dustin’
Every surface, you know,
looked covered in ‘snow’
It really was quite disgustin’

Or Version 2

There once was a laddie called Justin
Whose body was one I was lustin’
His kisses were sweet
He seemed kinda neat
To marry him, I was bustin’!

I found this kids site on poetry.. It was fun to write some limericks – I challenge everybody to have a go. 🙂 🙂 Can’t wait to read some others. Thanks for reading!

Has anyone got a nice recipe for Thai Beef Salad? I really feel like it today casue it is so hot here, and that salad is really refreshing.

Holly and I went shopping this morning for school Shoes. Her first pair as she is off to Kindergarten in Feb. On her birthday the other day, she came to me first thing in the morning I remarked about how wonderful it must be to be 5. She replied “Yes it is, and now that I am 5, you can teach me to drive” 🙂

We are all still feeling a bit sluggish from the time difference, but managed to wake up at 8am this morning which is getting us back on track. I’ve even done some scrapping today, it is still unfinished on the kitchen table but I’ll post a piccy when I’m done.

Long Lost Blogger returns!!!

Yay – we are home from our 19 days in Western Australia! I don’t even know where to begin in recounting the wonderful time that we had. Each day was a great experience but here are the hightlights….

* Christmas Eve sleeping over at SIL’s and waking up on Christmas morning to see Santa’s footprints coming out from the Fireplace! Seeing the kids opening their presents too.

* Christmas Day lunch at the in-laws – rowdy and rauquous and great fun.

* Out night in the 6-star hotel. OMG this place was so fabulous. The kingsize bed had the softest sheets I have even felt I was sure that I never wanted to leave it!! Dinner and breakfast were amazing.

* New Year’s Eve in Fremantle

* Week down the coast in Dunsborough – a trendy seaside town. Our house was a $2.5 million property with the most amazing beach at the bottom of our yard!

* Bus tour with Justin’s siblings and cousins around the Margaret River wineries.

* Holly’s 5th Birthday party, and seeing the adults play a very serious game of Musical Chairs.

* Coming home and sleeping n my bed.

Gee it was wonderful to see the family and spend time with them while just Hanging Out. The kids were able to get to know their grandparents, aunts and uncles much better and they in turn were able to see how much the kids had grown and to “experience” them in relaxed atmosphere on a day to day basis. You just don’t get that when you have fleeting visits.

So all in all another wonderful WA vacation. I love Perth, I could easily live there! Nice to be home though 🙂 and now I have to catch up on everyone else’s blog news.

Home Sweet Home

Hello from Perth!!!

Having the best time here on holiday. Yesterday we had so much fun with the in-laws for Christmas lunch. It is the first time we have spent Christmas Day with them and it was such so wonderful to part of this long lost family. We ate a seafood banquet, then ham and salads and way to many wines of course. They have this tradition where after lunch they ask a bunch of questions and if you get one right you win a scratchie. It was so funny, with lots of yelling and disputing answers, but entirely entertaining and we learn’t lots about everyone.

The best pressie we got was from Justin’s dad and step-mum, which was a deluxe accommodation package at this ritzy 5 star hotel in Perth. One night, dinner and breakfast in the restuarant, valet parking and the best of all, they are minding the kids!! Awesome present LOL.

The kids got so much stuff I think we’ll need an extra suitcase to get it all home. So, so far everything is just as relaxing and fabulous as I was anticipating. Boxing Day today, so might hit the beach, or visit some rellies, or just chill out and play with the kids presents – or maybe all of the above!!! Holidays are fantastic.

Great to read that you all had wonderful Christmas’s. Hope the rest of the break is just as fab.

Holidays at last

Yippee-ki-yay it’s the holidays…

What a weekend we had to start the school holidays. We just didn’t stop.

Saturday we went house looking but they were all so awful that it was depressing and sad. Sat arvo, Justin took the girls to a b’day party while Jess and I went to see Jane in the hospital with new baby Elias John. 126He was sooooo cute, and with the longest feet and hands that I have ever seen on a newborn. I cuddled him for ages but didn’t get clucky at all 😉
In the evening we went along to a Christmas party at my gorgeous friend Measa’s house. Her daughter and Holly were at daycare, then preschool and next year going to kindy together. It was a great evening with far to many vodka cruisers and cheesecake slices!!

Sunday was a huge sleep-in. Girls didn’t wake till well after 9.30am, me till 8.30am (and that is huge for me!!) and I raced off to mass where I got to cuddle Saraid (Moi’s baby girl) . She is so cute and tiny and petite and gorgeous – and Moi looking fab with her weight loss ( I hope Santa brings her some new jeans cause the old ones are hanging off her now!!:) )

The Sunday evening we had our family Christmas, seeing that we’ll be in WA for 3 weeks. Kids got heaps of presents and my beautiful sister gave me a card which said that a gift had been given to a poor Nicuraguan family on our behalf, via World Vision, which was an egg laying hen and training on how to care for it. The idea being that the family can have some nutritious eggs to eat for themselves, to sell eggs to others and hopefully make some money. Isn’t that a great idea?? Love it.

132 Meggie with Pa opening pressies
135 Holly in new fairy wings

So now it is 3.20am and I couldn’t sleep, so am catching up on the blog round and seeing how everyone else’s weekends were.

Thanks goodness it is the holidays and I don’t have to rush around tomorrow:)

Busy morning

Earlier in the week Justin asked me if I could arrange for my mum to mind the kids for a few hours on Sunday morning so he could take me somewhere – a surprise!!

So I sorted it out with mum and waited for the surprise. Would it be brunch at the Hyatt or a shopping spree at Harvey Norman for Plasma TV or something romantic like a picnic by the lake????

Noooooooooooooooo – it was a bikeride around the lake. One and half gruelling hours, pedalling into the wind, huffing & puffing and swallowing bugs. It was tough, but I did it, and then we road into the city and stopped at our favouite place, Cafe Essen, for breakfast and a coffee. In all honesty it was great 😉 and I feel so much better for the excerise. After the weeding yesterday my butt is super sore and my thighs feel like steel, but it was worth it and I loved spending time with my husband.

After that we picked up the kids and took them swimming. We are the super family!!!

Needless to say, I have just woken up from a nap cause I was soooo tired. Might do a bit of scrapbooking now.

CYA tomorrow 😉
