Thanks Rachie for the tag.
I actually found this really hard, cause I haven’t been scrapping all that long and it isn’t such an obsession for me that I know all the names of the papers and products. I’ guess I’m a newbie stil! Anyway, here is my best shot…..l

What scrapbook lines/products, etc. do you dislike?
Put it this way – I love bright colourful things, alphabets of any kind and rub-on quotes. I don’t really dislike anything I suppose.

What is the hardest thing you have ever had to scrap?
Baby pics of the kids – some are so precious I don’t want to wreck them!

What technique do you use more than anything else?
I am a ribbons fanatic – there is a ribbon on every LO somewhere.

What is the smallest scrap of paper you save?
I chuck anything that is smaller than business card size, but I save every skeric of ribbon.

Have you ever had any scrapbook related injuries?

I have sore muscles today from moving all my supplies into the garage/rumpus room where I have set up a little corner with a desk and shelves – does that count?

Finish this sentence, “If I wasn’t a scrapbooker/stamper, I would
spend my money on…”

Clothes, wine and parties/entertaining.

Give us your best storage or organizational idea.
I have a filing cabnit on wheels that I can pull close to me to find all my things or push away when I’ve got what I want. My MIL gave it to me and it has been a great storage item.

You just won a week long scrapbooking cruise for 5. Who is going with
you?

Hmmm – I’m sure my scrapping friends would understand if I asked them to mind my kids, while I took Justin with me on the cruise!!

When you received your first publication notification, who did you
tell? And if you are not yet pubbed, who will be the first person you
share the news with?

Rach of course, then Moi and my Mum and sisters and then I’d blog it cause that would be very exciting. I’ve only ever submitted once and was rejected, so maybe sometime in the future I’ll give it another go 🙂

Now I tag Moi to give this a go!

Something different.

I’ve been dabbling in a bit of “Beyond The Page” kind of stuff. I’ve never really been into it before now, preferring to do 12×12 LO’s and get some of the photos done. However, while away in WA I saw myself looking at objects in a new light.

For example: The stay at the 6 star hotel: We had this gourmet breakfast and on the table were little jars of honey, jam, marmalade etc. I took one look at them and Justin could see the glint in my eye. I felt like I was stealing as I left the restaurant with 2 of them in my hot little hand, so guilty me said to the waiter (French funky dude called Phillippe) “Do you mind if I take these little jars”. He said”Ov course, but what for?”, I replied “Well they would be handy to hold little craft things in” (not daring to get into the whole explaination of scrapbooking!). He smiled and told me to come back in a hour. When I returned he had 12 of them washed and labels removed, and grabbed my hand to take me to the table to get 4 more full ones!!

So this is what I have done with them….

The box in the background was the one that my new watch came in the other day. As I wanted to wear the watch from the shop the assistant said that I probably wouldn’t want the box. I started to agree with her, but then quickly said “Can I take a look at it?” and it was great, so I packed that up to take home too!!

Example 2
: On a winery tour in Margaret River we walked in this one place and there were the most fabulous wooden boxes stacked up high, with a price of $10 crossed out reduced to $5. OMG I was shaking with the thought of how many I could possibly get home on the plane. There is no way you could ever get a wooden box for that price!!!! It is quite large and very sturdy. 144 I grabbed 2 and Justin fortunately bought a case of wine, so the wooden boxes became the postage container!! They have arrived home now, and I gave one to Rach to see what she can come up with in decorating it. I didn’t mean it to be a challenge, but now it is!!! Any ideas would be gratefully accepted – I’ll give anything to do a better box than Rach, she is so creative!!! LOL.

Thanks for looking!!!

“Live your dreams”

87 I just love this LO that I did yesterday. I saw Donna Loughton’s entry in the Scrapbooking Masters of 2005 and just had to scraplift it! I am wrapped with the result. The word “dreams” at the bottom is not easy to see, but you get the idea !! LOL.

Justin calculated that I scrapped for 15 hours over the weekend 🙂 It was worth it casue it is so relaxing and stimulating at the the same time. Next task is to do the Christmas cards and get the mince pies into tins and the tins decorated!! No rest for the wicked.

Meggie and I are going to put up the Christmas tree now. Holly has gone to preschool, Jessie as asleep so we will have some quality mum and daughter time together 🙂 I love mornings like this.
Oh, and the gardener is coming. Don’t I sound la-di-dah saying that!!

Kath and Kim was so funny last night. I had a real giggle with that. I wonder if Brett will really leave Kim??

Enjoy Monday 😉

Wonderful Weekend

Wow, did we have a good day at our “Scrap-a-thon” or what?? It was awesome.
We booked a huge room at the church, put out 3 long tables and still only managed to take up about an eighth of the floor space. WE could have 25 people in there and it would be spacious!!

Anyway, Rach did her Christmas cards and Moi did a gorgeous LO with RIBBONS ( I was in heaven just looking at them). We went down to the shops for a quick lunch and just happened to stop by the LSS. Having stocked up on some supplies we went back to crop for a few more hours. It was so nice to chat and have some company, but the best thing was being able to share resources. Different stamps and inks and flowers and brads, it was like a shop! Loving it.

When I got home, I just couldn’t stop scrapping. I read in the SM mag that they were calling for submissions with an autumn theme, and I had the perfect photo. So while Harry Potter was on TV, i came up with this page to submit. I love it, and I hope they do too!!

I can’t believe I don’t subscribe to Scrapbooking Memories!

I was just reading Julie Love’s reviews of her Favourites in this months edition and it made me want to run out and get a copy then and there. I so wish I could be good enough to one day to have a LO published – ahhh wishful thinking, but then again you gotta dream big or nothing would ever inspire you.

Life has changed

Everywhere I go and in everything I do, I now look at things from a scrapbooking point of view. I am not exactly sure when this happened, but all of the sudden I seem to be hoarding potential scrapping items, like broken necklaces/bangles of the girls (the ones with all the pretty little bits and peices on them), bottle tops, scraps of paper and the like.

I even peruse the aisles at Woolies and Coles looking for things to use. And yesterday, I was in the hardware store looking for hooks to hang some certificates for the office. WEll, i went into the aisle with all the nails and hooks, and there were hinges for 60cents – gold, silver – and washers for the taps which would be great to tie in with ribbons, for 6c each. My mind was boggling with all the things I could do!!!

Even the photos I take now I try to set up in a way that I could scrapbook. It has totally improved my photography skills. I think I was meant to scrapbook, I just never knew it!! I love it.

Computer Problems

Posted on

I never realised how much I depended on my computer for interaction with the rest of the world! I haven’t had it for about 2 days now and Justin has ordered a new part, so I guess that means I’ll be without it for a few days more. Currently I am at work, and have never been so eager to walk into the place!! The first thing I did was check Rachie’s blog, then get onto the Boxx, so that I could see my latest layout in the gallery. Disappointingly however, it was no longer there as so many others had posted up their LO’s shifting mine into the “has beens”!

But I’ve linked to it here, so you can see what Rach and I did on Tuesday. it was such a lovely day, sitting at her kitchen table, with a kitchen bench (shop) full of resources at our fingertips, the puppies chasing each other around her backyard, and laughing (a lot!). Just so relaxing. Rach posted my LO and I attributed the inspiration for the design to one of my idols in the scrapping world (Julie Love) and to make my day, she saw it and commented. I was jumping around everywhere, it just made my day. Thank you so much Rach for a wonderful time.

Scrapbooking quiz

I just found this fun quiz. Check out what kind of scrapbooking item you are.

I am glue!

You are the adhesive that keeps things together. You go through life helping others. You stick to people and try to keep people together. You like it best when you are surrounded by people and able to help them. But Glue Beware – in your efforts to keep everyone together and with you, you sometimes overlook yourself and find it hard to keep yourself together. Don’t neglect personal time in your overwhelming need to socialize and help others.

Far out, that is spot on. How cool is that!!

Scrapping Dilemma

Posted on

At the moment I have a scrapping dilemma in that I have all these great ideas, but the photos are not printed and the order of supplies has not arrived from the online store. With nothing much on TV and a whole evening and weekend looming ahead of me, I am getting desperate to do a layout!

I had better get out one of my favourite books and start reading to keep me occupied.
